Originally designed for the perfect looking seams required of the window treatment industry, the Model 112 provides a complete finishing solution for the flexible sign builder with high production and precision work needs.

The Miller C-112 will give you the most attractive seam possible, and fast. With the guidance of laser alignment lights, our two thermoplastic panels are positioned on the bed of the machine and held in place with our exclusive vacuum fabric holding system. Once the fabric is positioned and held down with the vacuum, the travelling welding head is driven down the track and produces the heat sealed seam. During the overlap seaming process, it is not necessary for the operator to touch the fabric being welded. This eliminates any chances for operator error. Our 12 meter system is ideal when you need the most accurate, precise and attractive seam possible.

Technical Applications (Rotary Welding Principles)

Heat, Speed, Pressure...

Hot air heat sealing is a welding process used to join thermoplastic materials using heat to produce many products including truck tarpaulins, inflatable boats, industrial filters and environmental liners. The three principles for rotary welding are heat, speed, and pressure. The precise combination of these principles allows one to achieve a properly welded seam.

Heat is either electrically produced high temperature air or an electronically produced high temperature wedge precisely controlled and injected between two or more layers of thermoplastic material, heating the thermoplastic and preparing the two surfaces for molecular bond. The variable temperature range on Weldmaster equipment is 100 to 1350 degrees Fahrenheit and precisely maintained + or -10.

Speed is the amount of time the heat is applied to the thermoplastic material. This is controlled by the rate at which the material passes through the system. Driven weld rollers advance the thermoplastic material through the system at a precisely controlled variable speed.

Pressure is used to compress the heated thermoplastic materials together during the sealing process to complete the molecular bond between the two or more surfaces. Variable air pressure is applied to the weld rollers creating the necessary strength.
