  Introduction

  Avery Etched Glass Film is especially developed for computer-aided signmaking systems for decorative and functional graphics on glass windows and screens, doors and mirrors. Avery Etched Glass is a quality cast film offering an indoor durability of up to 9 years.

  • Facefilm: 60 micron cast film with etched glass appearance
  • Adhesive: permanent, acrylic based
  • Backing paper: one side coated bleached kraft paper, 140 g/m©˜

  Recommendations for use

  Avery Etched Glass Film is especially developed to create the image of etched decoration on glass, without the use of etching chemicals. Avery Etched Glass Film can be used on flat transparent surfaces like glass, acrylic sheets and polycarbonate materials.

  Recommendations for application

  • Flat surfaces only.
  • High tack application tape, like PM74.
  • Application to a substrate with the wet method will facilitate positioning.
  • Addition of 0,5% of neutral detergent will give you the right application fluid.
  • Water to be removed with a squeegee and film hand pressure.
  • Allow the adhesive to build up sufficient adhesion level (this may take 15-45 min!) before application tape removal.

  2. Durability
     The durability is based on middle European exposure conditions. Actual performance life will depend on substrate preparation, exposure conditions and maintenance of the marking. For instance, in the case of signs facing south; in areas of long high temperature exposure such as southern European countries; in industrially polluted areas or high altitudes, exterior performance will be decreased.
