Airport Displays - Airports provide many different ways to advertise, including dioramas, posters and exhibits. Most are backlit.
Allotments - The number of units required to achieve a desired GRP level in a particular market.
Animation - Technique used to gain added attention to a billboard. Uses moving components, flashing lights, or other special treatment.
Approach - The total distance measurement that copy on a structure is readable. Usually 1500, 1000, and 500 feet.
Arteries or Arterials - The major secondary streets of a city (not motorways) where speeds are usually lower.
Artwork - The visual image of an ad, to scale, that will eventually be posted on a billboard or other advertising structure.
Audited or Authenticated Circulation - The "Traffic Audit Bureau" is an independent organization made up of ad executives and advertisers. They audit outdoor plants around the country using standard measuring procedures for traffic counts. These numbers are eventually converted into DEC's (daily effective circulation).
Availability or Avails - Space available for sale at a given time.

Aisle Width - By law, the more people expected at an exhibition, the wider the aisles need to be. Two to three metres is an acceptable average for a 30,000 visitor exhibition.
Audience/Visitor Density - Health and safety regulations dictate that only a certain number of people may be in a certain area at a given time. The Audience Density is used to determine the number of visitors within a hall.
Audio Visual - Equipment that may be hired from a contractor for the duration of an exhibition.
A/V Production An audio visual production designed to communicate a sales or corporate message to exhibition visitors. Sometimes used to attract attention to the exhibition stand.
