A QR Code is a 2 dimensional barcode that can be viewed by QR scanners, mobile phones with a camera, and most smartphones with the correct scanning software installed. Initially very common in Japan, where it was first used and created by a company called Denso-Wave in 1994, the QR code is one of the most popular types of two-dimensional barcodes.
